The History of Oak Hill Gallery
Originally known as Park Hill, the site was established in 1890 when William Dunn purchased a 415-acre pastoral lease. By 1892, Dunn had built the Italianate-style villa that still graces the property today, a symbol of the era and the estate’s prominence.

Held by the Dunn family for three generations, the land was later subdivided, and the homestead fell into disuse until its revival in 1999. Recognizing its cultural value, the Mornington Peninsula Shire restored the property and leased it to a group of passionate artists and volunteers.

Now thriving as Oak Hill Gallery, the villa serves as a creative cornerstone for the Mornington Peninsula. Its legacy rooted in resilience, art, and community and continues to flourish through exhibitions, workshops, and the dedication of volunteers who keep its history alive while inspiring future generations.
